a NaNoWriMo update!

Hello lovelies, I'm appearing from the trenches of National Writing Month with less words than I'd hoped to have so far. I'm currently in the middle of a large writing goal (3,859 words) and procrastinating. LOL. But I feel better about writing tonight than I have in the past week-ish, so I'm okay with taking small breaks as long as I just keep working at it. I've been hit with a lot of mental health stuff recently, and that is one of the few things can really put me in a writer's block. Yesterday, I got down 427 words and quit before the night was over. And you know what? That's okay! It's hard for me not to feel like shit if that happens, but I'm starting to reach a point where I'm like it's fine, you just can't sometimes. And as long as I'm getting SOME words down, it's better than none! My deadline for this is the end of December, so what I don't get done this month, I'm doing then, and it's not a big deal if I don't make it to 50k. But I want to get as much as I can written!

So here's where I'm at so far:

My total is 18,797 and it was basically done in the first two weekends. But that's the thing about me doing NaNo: I'm only writing on my weekends (which are 3 or 4 days since I have Mondays and every other Friday off, depending on which work week it is). So I'm not paying attention to the daily word count goal; instead I'm still using Pacemaker. And it's been going okay, aside from the aforementioned bad MH days. That last dot will change as it's today's date and I haven't plugged in my words yet. If all goes well, that'll place me up near a 4k word count for the day, and then I'll be doing well. I'm not actually worried about not winning NaNo, but it's still nice to not be so far behind on this. Haha. What can I say? I'm a competitive person with MYSELF. It's bad sometimes. *cry-laughing emoji*

I hope everyone who is doing NaNo is having fun and writing words even if they're not great or it's not very much compared to others. I'm wishing y'all well, and I'll see you at the FINISH LINE, okay? And with that, I'll leave you with some teasers:
